Phil Verheijen’s journey from banking to mortgage brokering reflects a career driven by a commitment to personalised service and tailored financial solutions. With a distinguished background in banking, including roles at NAB, ANZ and Lloyds TSB Bank in the UK, Phil spent 12 years developing expertise in personal and commercial finance, while also completing a Bachelor of Business (Finance), followed by an MBA majoring in International Business.

Fuelled by a desire to offer clients more tailored lending options, Phil founded Professional Lending Solutions in 2014. His decision to become a mortgage broker stemmed from a vision to prioritise customer needs above all else. Phil’s unique approach is rooted in his belief that each client deserves individualised attention and customised solutions, a sentiment that has shaped his business from the outset.

Phil’s real-world banking experience has given him an outstanding knowledge base encompassing all types of lending solutions, from home loans to car finance and personal loans, from simple mortgages to complex commercial files with group borrowings over $30 million.

Phil loves nothing more than finding a solution when everyone else says it can’t be done. With his extensive background in commercial banking, he’s often able to see things from a different perspective. This out-of-the-box approach has enabled him to help borrowers with a wide range of circumstances (often, less than ideal) and has led to him developing a client base where 65% are self-employed.

Away from the office, Phil spends as much time as he can with his family and loves coaching his son’s rugby team and cheering on his daughter’s netball team. Throughout his career, Phil has held many board positions in non-profit and sporting organisations and continues to sponsor several grassroots sporting clubs in order to give back to his local community.
